CLUB MAKOKOLA |
Club Makokola is situated on the southern
shore of Lake Malawi. It is a luxury lake
resort in the heart of Africa. It is an up
market hotel with a variety of beach and
sporting activities, entertainment and fine
cuisine.
ACCOMMODATION AND FACILITIES
Club Makokola comprises thatched en-suite
rondavel style rooms including a junior and
executive suite. Its conference center is
excellent.
Most rooms face the warm water of Lake
Malawi, which looks like a sea but has no
tide, nor salty water. The resort has two
tennis courts, a squash court, mini soccer,
two swimming pools and beach volleyball.
ACTIVITIES
Club Makokola offers a range of activities.
You can go on excursions, charter a boat or
a plane or refresh yourself in water sports.
Sporting activities include a 3 par 9-hole
Mlambe golf course. Water sports include
sailing, snorkeling, diving, skiing,
paragliding, and windsurfing where tropical
fish abound beneath the surface and fish
eagles are ever present above it. |

KAYA MAWA LODGE |
Kaya Mawa Lodge is situated on the south
western tip of Likoma Island and is
surrounded by mango and baobab trees. The
lodge uses the natural surroundings of the
beach, rock and lake to create a place of
unique character.
ACCOMMODATION AND FACILITIES
Kaya Mawa Lodge is made up of ten stone and
teak-framed thatched cottages. The honeymoon
house is secluded away from the rest of the
lodge for perfect privacy. Each cottage is
lake-facing, has a shower and sunken stone
bathtub. All cottages have private terraces.
ACTIVITIES
The lodge offers a variety of activities to
keep guests busy. Guests can choose from
scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming, sailing,
fishing, cycling, visits to local villages,
day trips by air or boat to Mozambique. |

CHINTHECHE INN |
Chintheche Inn lies on the northern shores
of Lake Malawi. This charming Inn offers
warm hospitality in 10 double room
bungalows, each with a beach view balcony
and all are brightly furnished with local
crafts. All rooms are en suite with ceiling
fans and mosquito nets.
The Chintheche Inn has a central dining area
and a swimming pool that overlooks the lake
for those days when the lake is rough.
ACTIVITIES
There is a pristine white sandy beach with
excellent swimming, windsurfing, sailing,
birding and beach braais (barbeques). Local
excursions are available to surrounding
villages for a cultural experience, and the
surrounding indigenous forests offer
opportunities for wonderful birding. Those
looking for something more strenuous,
mountain bike trails (bikes are for hire)
are available, and guests may also do
walking trails and fishing trips with local
fisherman. |
